Welcome. We are a Forest Preschool, operating all outdoors, based in Washington Park, Portland, Oregon. We believe in the benefits of a tight community so we stay small. Our program encourages nature connection and healthy risk assessment. We teach social-emotional skills and conflict resolution. We document our play-based, emergent curriculum so we can learn from each other. Our vision is to nurture a nature-aware school community with lots of space for exploration and belonging.

What is a Forest School?

A forest school is a long-term education program that supports exploration, play, and hands-on learning in an outdoor setting.

Join us for a Field Day to visit the meadow and meet the teachers. Upcoming Field Days are March 14th, April 25th, May 17th

    Join us for a free, in-person Field Day with parents and kids! Just like a forest school day, we’ll gather in the meadow, have a short introduction circle, explore forest materials, and go for a short hike.

    This event is best for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers.
